Bikram Yoga Spain’s position on Mr. Bikram Choudhury

After some news and accusations derived from alleged actions and behaviors of Mr. Bikram Choudhury (the main person who structured the Bikram Yoga discipline as an orderly series of Yoga postures with breathing exercises), Bikram Yoga Spain keeps its position clear and firm as He did it from day one:

• Bikram Yoga Spain is an independent franchise of Mr. Bikram Choudhury and has absolutely nothing to do with him or with any other Bikram Yoga center outside the Bikram Yoga Spain (BYS) chain

• Bikram Yoga Spain does not contribute or has never contributed financially to Mr. Bikram Choudhury.

• Bikram Yoga Spain since its creation was separated from everything related to Mr. Bikram Choudhury, from other centers of Bikram Yoga, as well as any fanaticism.

• Bikram Yoga Spain has suffered innumerable attacks to maintain this firm stance by other Bikram Yoga centers (especially Spanish centers) that do not belong to our chain. Mainly for two reasons, for their fanatic stance and because they see us as a competition for excellence in our service, expansion and development. These attacks and the people responsible for them you can find without difficulty giving a negative opinion in our RRSS.

• Bikram Yoga Spain has its own exclusive certification for BYS teachers, its own Teacher Trainning and its own brand and intellectual protection BYS, thus dissociating itself from any relationship with other centers of Bikram Yoga and Mr. Bikram Choudhury.

Why still our name Bikram Yoga Spain (BYS)?

• For a trademark registration since 2011.

• Because people identify us by name and our reputation for many years.

• Because of the economic impact of the change in the entire chain.

• Because we consider the discipline totally disconnected from Mr. Bikram Choudhury and other Bikram Yoga centers.

Why Bikram Yoga Spain and not others Bikram Yoga or Mr. Bikram Choudhury?

• Because apart from any other study of Bikram Yoga (which BYS does not recommend due to lack of ethics, morality and professionalism) outside our chain, Bikram yoga Spain (BYS) maintains moral and ethical values above any current.

• Because we totally unlink Yoga from the name of any person, creator, or founder. We consider Yoga a universal and positive movement for everyone.

• For our excellence in service, which positions us among the 5 largest and most important yoga chains in Europe.

• Because the only thing that matters to us is the well-being of our students and what Yoga brings to them in mental and physical health benefits.

• Because we are open to other techniques that we consider highly healthy in a Holistic aspect, both Yoga (we impart Vinyasa Yoga without heat) and physical (we also impart Hypopressive abdominals), as mental (we use Mindfulness techniques and basic aspects of spirituality)
