First class Bikram Yoga
Here you have a series of guidelines and tips that it is important that you know before making your first class.
You must be punctual
Arrive at least 20 minutes before class, to be able to prepare calmly. It is convenient to arrive 30 minutes before the first class to register. Once the session has begun, late students will not be accepted.
What clothes should I use?
They recommend short pants or swimsuits for them. Preferably no shirt or sleeveless shirt. For them leggings or shorts. Top of gym or sleeveless shirt is recommended. Never too loose clothes.
It is recommended to drink a lot of water. During a class you can lose between 1 and 2 liters of water. You may be dehydrated during class so be sure to drink plenty of water before and after class. You are less likely to feel dizzy during class if you have drunk enough. It is recommended to have a bottle of water for the class.
It is important not to eat anything 2-3 hours before class. It is also recommended to have a balanced diet.
Yoga is not allowed in the yoga room: phones, wallets, jewelry, chewing gum, shoes, soda (water only).
Stay in the room
It is important not to leave the room taking all the breaks you need during the 90-minute class. If you think you should leave inform the teacher and if it is essential to go quietly.
Before, during and after classes absolute silence is required inside the room. Respect the practice of our colleagues.
The hygiene of all the personnel is important. The use of body creams and perfumes is not recommended, due to the sweating to which you are exposed. The cream will only limit your practice.
If you feel that the heat combined with intense exercise is not bearable, it is advisable to sit down for as long as you consider necessary and start the next position. Try to avoid leaving the class. You will get used to it and it will help you to progress quickly. It is very important to keep the 90 minutes inside the class.
The body will develop flexibility and strength with the practice of postures. Yoga is not only for flexible people. If you are not flexible, you are a good candidate to get the benefits of yoga. It is normal to feel tired or sore at the end of the class. To effectively combat these symptoms and see the progression it is recommended to return the next day.
Inhaling and exhaling through the nose is the best way to control the heart rate and calm the nervous system. Controlling breathing will make you have a better practice.
